Design Considerations:

The apartments were laid out so that the noiser areas, such as the living room and bathroom, were separated from the bedrooms by as much space as possible. Drain piping was installed outside of bedroom walls to minimize water noise. The walls between apartments are insulated with fiberglass and lined with soundboard to minimize noise transmission between apartments. Apartment floors on all levels of the building have a layer of concrete to dampen sound transmission.

Every attempt was made to maximize the available living space. The central furnace unit is located in a section of closet. The water heater is located below the eat-in counter to free up space for living and storage.
